Buying a Northern Car with a Florida Auto Title
Many vehicles in the north that are used started their lives in the southern sections of the country. This is because the northern winters can be very harsh to the vehicles due to the increase in the salt content in the air and water as well as the ice and snow that can cause slippery conditions. Many vehicles that are full year vehicles in the north have been involved in at least one winter time accident due to the extreme weather conditions that many cities remain open and active during. This can severely limit the life length of the vehicle. Many used car companies then go to the south to purchased low cost vehicles that have higher mileages but a Florida auto title to indicate that it has not seen very many or any heavy winters in its years of use. The Florida auto title does not guarantee that the vehicle is a winter free vehicle, but it does help to limit the chances that the vehicle has seen the heavy winters that the northern vehicles see yearly. In Florida, due to the inexperience of most of the drivers in poor winter conditions and the lack of winter snow removal equipment, many cities shut down at the threat of snow or at the appearance of a snow build-up of less than an inch. This helps to limit the number of accidents related to the winter weather and helps to protect the vehicles from salt, snow and ice damage. The northern cars, unlike those with a Florida auto title, do not have the luxury of not having to be driven in the winter weather. Most northern cities, especially those around the great lake system are used to being driven in snows of an excess of 24 inches. This is made possible by heavy plows that move the snow off the streets and spread salt or grit onto the roads to provide traction and remove the ice. The northern cities are also used to the drops in the temperature that can make the salt and grit on the road ineffective at melting the ice. These cars are prone to experiencing scratches due to the flying ice on during the melting season and the bumps that they may have received during the winter. |
