There are some things to watch out for in vehicles with a Florida auto title. Many Floridian or southern vehicles are not built with a heater in them. This is because the manufacturer knew that they were going to the southern section of the country and was hoping to save money both for the factory in the construction of the vehicle and for the final consumer of the vehicle. This can be very troubling in the northern sections of the United States where the temperatures can frequently drop to single digits and occasionally will drop into the negative numbers. A lack of a heater in these vehicles can mean a very uncomfortable ride and an inability to clear the windshields during a snow or sleet storm. This can cause limited or a lack of visibility and therefore cause additional accidents or render the vehicle unusable during the winter.

Another problem that many vehicles with a Florida auto title may experience is a lack of winter tires. Many southern vehicles require new tires when coming into the north. There is no reason for southern vehicles to have winter tires and most do not even have alls season tires. Many of the northern cars have a summer tire that is designed for maximum gasoline efficiency due to the lack of heavy tread patterns. This can cause serious trouble for those individuals who are purchasing the lower cost vehicle due to a limited amount of funds and do not necessarily have the money to purchase new winter or all season tires.

If a good southern vehicle is found with a Florida auto title, there is little difficulty in changing the title into the northern state's title. This can be done once the vehicle is purchased and the ownership of the vehicle is verified. This is often done at a notary's office and does incur a small fee to have the title notarized.
